Art & Creativity

As AI permeates the world, the pendulum of value will naturally swing back towards tangibility, challenge and perseverance. Value creation has always lived there.

AI will make tangible what many feel to be intangible today, and artists will make tangible what many will feel to be intangible tomorrow.

When digital creativity is a commodity, the safest place for many artists may very well be the physical world. Physical, handcrafted beauty will be like a breath of fresh air.

Even within art and design, there have always been levels of elitism: oil painters who'd never use Procreate; Procreators who'd never use AI. As we accelerate, we cheapen and normalize and segment ourselves.

We compress and simplify what used to be a lifetime of study. We've done the same with physics, fluid dynamics, mathematics, medicine, biology, and countless other fields.

We stare in awe at rockets launching because space has always felt like the most intangible reach we could conceive of. We rarely celebrate simple and achievable; it's not in our nature.

So rather than fear, we should seek the discomfort of achieving the impossibly intangible. It's an ever-moving target, just as every great challenge tends to be.
